Tuesday Morning Miracle Workers

Twenty-five years ago, Bill Yeagle, Bob Sanborn, and Jay Briscoe began their journey with a simple task: constructing risers for a church choir room. Their success sparked an idea that led them to join Green Country Habitat for Humanity as the "Tuesday Morning Miracle Workers."

Under Briscoe's leadership, they tackled daunting projects, from dilapidated homes to fire-damaged structures. In 1996, they took on their first new build, facing challenges like hand-digging footings and battling adverse weather.

Today, the group, now led by Kent Powers, comprises 35 to 40 volunteers meeting twice a week. Their contributions extend beyond construction to fundraising and cabinet-making, impacting both Habitat homeowners and the organization.

Their mission remains steadfast: to offer hope and tangible assistance to those in need. Their legacy stands as a testament to the enduring power of volunteerism and community-driven initiatives.

Our CEO, Cameron Walker said that "Nobody has helped from a volunteer standpoint more than the miracle workers.” Check out the Channel 2 news story here.
